BWPA Awards evening

Article text
Last night I attended the British Wildlife Photography Awards ceremony at the Hoopers Gallery, London. The evening was hosted by naturalist and TV presenter Nick Baker, and marked the official opening of this year's exhibition, which will tour the UK this year and next. A book has also been published to accompany the 2010 awards.

I was fortunate enough to have my shot of a reed warbler (pictured) achieve highly commended in the Habitat category, which means it is included in both the exhibition and the book. The standard of photography was really impressive and the overall winner, an image of a lowly herring gull taken by Steve Young, was a stunning and worthy winner.
